West Plains, MO. – Missouri State University – West Plains recently held a tour and ceremony for their new facility, the Wulff-Risner Agriculture Science Center on Tuesday, August 20th, and 8th District Congressman Jason Smith paid a visit during the proceedings.
This new facility is located just off of Creamery Road in West Plains, behind Dairy Queen, and was once used as a location for training show horses. Now designated as a part of MSU-West Plains, this location has been touted as being the training location for the collegiate rodeo team, as well as a location for various types of agricultural sciences.
Dennis Lancaster, the current Chancellor of MSU-West Plains, said that this facility, and even the new push towards a collegiate rodeo sports team, is all in an effort to give more people more reasons to go to college, and to allow them to pursue the things they want, close to home.
