Julie Williams Named Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at Rolla Public Schools

Dr. Julie Williams has been named the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at Rolla Public Schools, effective July 1, 2020.  Williams has been with West Plains District for the last 14 years, serving as an administrator for the past 11 years.

“For 28 years, I have dedicated my life to public education, and have been blessed to spend half of that time in service for the West Plains School District,” said Williams. “I truly believe it is a duty to give back to society and to engross ourselves into the community in which we serve. My greatest passion is to advocate for rural schools and for the impoverished students of Missouri. It has been said, ‘If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come to us from strong, healthy, functioning families, it makes our job more important.’ I will continue to advocate for equitable access for Missouri students so each may find success regardless of their background.”

Dr. Lori Wilson, Superintendent of West Plains School District, commented on Williams’ appointment, “Dr. Williams has dedicated many years to the West Plains community and our schools. While we are sad to lose her, we are excited for Dr. Williams as she advances her career. I think she will be a great fit at Rolla, and I look forward to watching her success there.”

Williams’ resignation is effective on June 30, 2020.
