Koshonong school reports COVID-19 case

Koshkonong school has announced an employee has tested positive for COVID-19. School Superintendent Seth Bryant posted the following on social media Thursday.
Dear Parents & Students,
An Oregon-Howell R-III employee self-reported a positive case of COVID-19 this afternoon to District Administration and that person was last on the Oregon-Howell R-III Campus on the date of August 27, 2020. At this time, it is believed the risk of exposure is low, but please monitor for symptoms and notify your health care provider if symptoms develop.
Now and in the future, for all confirmed COVID-19 exposures, the Oregon County Health Department will guide the District’s decision making processes. What is shared in any District press release related to a COVID-19 exposure is the maximum extent to which the Health Department can legally allow us to provide information to the public. In all cases, the names of individuals within the district who are affected by COVID-19 will be kept confidential. The district has a legal obligation to uphold HIPPA privacy rules and will follow the policies of the health department in all notifications or public statements.
Due to the nature of the exposure, Oregon-Howell R-III will not have in-person classes from August 28, 2020 through September 11, 2020 with classes resuming on September 14, 2020. During this time students will be educated through distance learning via Acellus Program, Google Classroom, I-Ready and paper packets for those without internet service. Teachers will be in contact with students beginning Monday August 31st to discuss learning plans.
All extra-curricular activities (practices and contests) will be suspended during the same time frame of August 28 through September 14, 2020 as well.
Sincerely,
Seth Bryant
Superintendent, Oregon-Howell R-III
