urtles have roamed Missouri’s landscapes for millions of years, and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering a free virtual opportunity to learn more about these fascinating reptiles.
On Monday, April 29, from 6 to 7 p.m., MDC’s Springfield Conservation Nature Center will host an online program titled “Amphibians and Reptiles: Turtles.” MDC Naturalist Morgan Wyatt will lead the session, exploring the different species of turtles that call Missouri home and the vital role they play in local ecosystems. Participants will also learn how they can help ensure these ancient creatures continue to thrive in the wild.
The program is free, but registration is required. Participants must provide an email address to receive the event link. Register here: Register for MDC Turtle Program
The event will include a live chat-based Q&A session, offering attendees a chance to ask questions and engage with the presenter.
