Houston, MO. – A Licking man was arrested last week on accusations of firing a gun and pointing it at others while drunk.
Ty Alan Huff, age 30, was arrested by the Texas County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 18, 2024, and has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon – shooting at a person, motor vehicle, or building and unlawful use of a weapon – using a weapon while intoxicated.
According to the probable cause statement, Huff had recently arrived at his residence when another vehicle pulled into his driveway around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 18. Huff told authorities he believed the vehicle belonged to someone he had a disturbance with earlier in the evening. Huff is alleged to have produced a 9mm pistol, fired a round into the ground away from the vehicle, and pointed the weapon at the driver. The driver was not the person from the previous incident but a relative of someone staying at Huff’s residence and contacted law enforcement.
Deputies noted Huff was slurring his speech, eyes appeared glassy, and smelled of intoxicants. Huff was noted as telling deputies he had consumed five alcoholic drinks earlier that night.
Huff was taken to the Texas County Jail and is being held on a $2,500 cash-only bond. Huff has a previous criminal conviction for DUI and reckless driving from an incident in 2019.
