LICKING, Mo. — Residents inside of the Licking School District will be deciding on a property tax initiative on Tuesday.
The Licking School District is asking residents to increase the tax ceiling $.85 from $2.75 to $3.60 per $100 assessed valuation through tax year 2040. If approved, the district says the money will be used to expand, renovated and refurnish classrooms, cafeterias, and other renovation projects across the district.
School officials say the funding would eliminate the need for portable trailers that are used for elementary school classrooms.
