West Plains, MO. – The Lincoln School, which was recently renovated by Crockett and Tonya Oaks, has officially made good on their promise to begin educational programs within the facility with a history lesson that was held on February 6th.
Coinciding with Black History Month, which takes place in February, this history class was given with help by Dr. Marlin Barber, a Senior Instructor of History with MSU, who specializes in information on 19th Century African American history and slavery.
This history program is scheduled to continue with another presentation and lesson planned for Thursday, February 22nd. This featured speaker will be Doctor Jason McCollom from MSU – West Plains, who is an associate professor of history. In addition, a presentation of “The Wiz” will be happening at the Lincoln School on Thursday, February 29th at 5pm.
