West Plains, MO. – A local male was recently arrested for stalking and harrassing a 17-year-old girl. 39-year-old Sheldon Wilkening is being charged with three counts of 1st-degree stalking and one count of 2nd-degree harassment.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a female contacted the West Plains Police Department and reported that her 17-year-old daughter was being stalked by a male subject who was identified as Sheldon Wilkening. This 17-year-old female is a victim of a prior 2nd-degree harassment case involving Wilkening. On October 6, 2023, he took a plea deal for 2 years of unsupervised probation and to have no contact with the victim.
The 17-year-old victim reported that she saw Wilkening drive past her multiple times while she was walking at the West Plains Municipal Golf Course. She stated that he would allegedly stop near her to record videos and take pictures of her. The victim stated that she also saw him driving past her in town multiple times where he would stop and wave at her. The last thing she reported was that Wilkening would like all her social media content. During the interview, police noted that the victim started crying and reported that his behavior made her nervous and afraid to leave her home for fear that he would try to contact her.
Sheldon Wilkening is being held on a $5,000 bond.
