Paul is accused of killing a 70-year-old Eminence man in late December 2023. Investigators with the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control were investigating the death of a currently unnamed man at his residence in Shannon County. The victim was found with two apparent gunshot wounds, one in his head and one in his torso. Near the body were two expended .38 caliber casings and the entry to the home was open. Inside, the residence had been burglarized and the victim’s green Chevy Tahoe was missing. An autopsy conducted on the victim determined his cause of death was the two gunshot wounds.

The vehicle was allegedly sold to Kelly Marks of Olathe, Kansas, and Marks has been arrested for receiving stolen property. In the probable cause statement, Marks alleges to have bought the vehicle from Paul for $500 a few days before his arrest.

Police have recovered security footage of Paul driving the stolen Tahoe from multiple locations between Eminence and the Kansas City area and a witness stated to investigators they saw Paul leaving the residence in the stolen vehicle near the suspected time of the murder.
