Local Radio Legend Clarence Crider passed away just shy of his 91st Birthday. Clarence and Mary Ann the brother and sister duo, have blessed the Ozark airwaves with their gospel radio show, The Clarence and Mary Ann Crider Show, every week since 1963 and on KUKU Radio since 1974. Clarence an accomplished musician and songwriter who produced each show, did not let blindness slow him down. Clarence and Mary Ann played all over the region for years and shared their talents and love of music with so many. Clarence and Mary Ann could be seen on the stage of the Current River Opry which started in Van Buren, moved to the Eminence Theater and then after the theater burned, they moved the opry to the Summersville VFW building where it remained until 2010. The Crider’s have shared their talents and their faith for over 60 years, Clarence will be deeply missed by those who had the honor of knowing him and those who knew him from the radio show.
