Low-flying planes should be expected in the skies over the next 8 months. While this may concern some people in the Ozarks, don’t worry. The United States Geological Survey says that this is just a part of examining the underpinning to the Ozark Plateau.
In addition to mapping the general landscape of the Ozarks, this is also being done to project potential resources in the Paleozoic sedimentary section of the earth, as well as variations in earths magnetic field.
These flights will be based out of the Missouri airports based in Rolla, West Plains, Springfield and Clinton, the Rogers, AR. airport, and the Atkinson, KS. airport.
These planes will be flying at only 260 feet overhead.
