Luster Arcade Area in West Plains Receives New Mural

West Plains, MO. – The square in West Plains has just received a new artistic draw in the form of a mural painted in the Luster Arcade. This painting was created between West Plains native Crockett Oaks, and Dr. Bolaji Ogunwa of Nigeria.

The piece used as inspiration for this mural is one in Crocketts possession that he was given by Charles Kimberland III, whose father painted it in the 1960’s. Crocketts fondness of the painting came in the form of the name he and his wife bestowed upon it, “The Protector”.

Dr. Ogunwa spoke further, stating that more inspiration came from scriptures, particularly Isaiah (66:13) “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you”; a quote which can be seen on the mural. The mural is intended to inspire hope.
