Man Arrested After Choking And Then Stomping On Female

Texas County, MO. – A man was recently arrested after he choked a female and then stomped on her while she was lying on the ground.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Texas County deputy responded to a report of domestic assault on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Once they arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim who stated her roommate, Paul Connearney, had assaulted her after she asked him to stop smoking around her dogs. Paul then started to strangle her, causing her to fall to the ground. While she was on the ground, he stomped his foot onto her face, ribs, and chest. She had broken ribs and multiple contusions to her face. The victim stated that she had not immediately called the police because Connearney had threatened to kill her dogs and burn down her house. She also stated, “I thought he was trying to kill me.”
