West Plains, MO. – A man was arrested after threatening to shoot three victims outside of US Cellular in West Plains, Missouri.
On May 22, 2024, an officer of the West Plains Police Department was flagged down. Three Victims reported that Mason Harris, a West Plains resident, had pointed a small dark or black in color firearm out the window at them while stating, “He was not afraid to shoot them.” They claimed that this encounter took place in the US Cellular parking lot.
An officer arrived on the scene and made contact with Mason Harris. When asked if he had recently threatened anyone with a firearm, Harris said that he had not, but that he had a pistol inside his vehicle. Harris denied consent to search his vehicle for the firearm. He was then placed under arrest for a 24-hour hold.
The West Plains Police Department conducted a further interview with the three victims. They told the police that Harris had seemed annoyed that one of the victims had been at Sonic and then followed him to US Cellular.
On May 23, 2024, a search warrant was obtained for Harris’s vehicle where they found a pistol, a magazine, and several rounds of ammunition. Harris was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and assault-4th degree. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
