This investigation was started as a result of two Cyber Tipline Reports by an internet service provider saying that suspected child pornography was uploaded and promoted to other service users. On June 11, 2024, officers acquired a search warrant for the account and found evidence of Mantai promoting child pornography. During an interview with Mantai, he admitted to ownership, custody, and control of accounts and devices with child pornography.

Mantai is currently incarcerated at the Shannon County Jail pending warrants without bond.

Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, Shannon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team assisted the South-Central Missouri Computer Crime Task Force in the investigation.
