Thayer, MO. – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on August 21, 2024.
According to a press release from the Thayer Police Department, the crash occurred around 5:32 p.m. on U.S. Highway 63 South in Thayer, Missouri. The Thayer Police Department had officers report to the scene and found that the vehicle involved was a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the vehicle was 77-year-old Richard Haigwood of Alton, Missouri. He was pronounced dead on the scene. No further information on the crash has been released at this time.
This crash was investigated by the Thayer Police Department which was assisted in the investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Oregon County Sheriff’s Office. Other agencies that responded and assisted with this crash scene are Oregon County Ambulance District, Thayer Fire Department, Survival Flight, and Alton Police Department.
