Ozark County, MO. – A man from Mountain Home was seriously injured following a car crash caused by a medical issue.
On July 1, 2024, a crash occurred at 4:14 p.m. on Highway 160 at County Road 669. 73-year-old Frederick Byrum was driving a 2023 GMC Sierra westbound when he suffered an undisclosed medical issue. This caused him to run the vehicle off the right side of the roadway, then overcorrect before going off the left side, overturning and striking a tree. Byrum was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Baxter Health in Mountain Home via Air Evac for treatment. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Bryum was wearing his seat belt during the crash.
