On Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at approximately 9:48 PM, officers observed a motorcycle with lighting violations in the area of Halstead Street. Officers made contact with the subject on the motorcycle who was identified to be 53 year old Sean Boyer of West Plains.
During the course of the contact, Boyer fled from officers on the motorcycle south on Halstead and then west on Webster Avenue until losing control and crashing in the area of Webster Avenue and Harms Street. Boyer then fled on foot but was caught by officers. Boyer then began physically resisting arrest but officers were able to place Boyer in handcuffs. Boyer was then transported to the Howell County Jail without further incident.
West Plains Police K-9 Loki responded where Boyer had fled to search for any narcotics or contraband Boyer may have thrown out while he was fleeing. K-9 Loki located and alerted the presence of narcotics in the area and officers recovered a bag which contained multiple suspected controlled substances.
Boyer is currently being held without bond for a Parole Violation arrest warrant. Additional charges from the incident are being filed with the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Those charges include Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to Distribute, Driving While Revoked, and Resisting Arrest for a Felony, along with multiple traffic violations.
