Marion County Shooting Suspect Arrested

Flippin, AR. – The suspect in a shooting that was being sought by law enforcement in Marion County, AR. was apprehended over the weekend.

The suspect was Leigh Goldsworth Blackmon, 31 of Flippin, AR., who was spotted in Marion County on a motorcycle along with one other person, identified as Chelsea Rae Holland, 29.

Blackmon was originally wanted for a shooting incident on October 15th, where a victim was seriously injured after having been shot with a shotgun.

Blackmon attempted to flee custody, but as the chase went into Baxter County, it ended on Arkansas Highway 126 at the Lithia Creek Bridge. Blackmon was taken into custody for 1st Degree Battery and Possession of Firearms by a Certain Person.

Blackmon’s passenger, Chelsea Holland, was taken into custody on two felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a felony count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
