WEST PLAINS, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation is reminding some local hunters about requirements for testing for chronic wasting disease ahead of the opening firearms weekend this weekend.
Howell County Conservation Agent Matt Franks told Ozark Radio News that Howell, Oregon and Ozark County are in the disease management zone, which requires mandatory testing during the opening weekend:

He said the process for getting the required testing materials is rather quick, however, testing can take up to four weeks to get results:
Those who harvest deer from areas not in the CWD management zone are welcome to have their deer checked as well:
