Memorial Bull Riding Set for Mountain Grove

The National Federation of Professional Bullriders will host the Jeff and Randy Walkowe Memorial Bull Riding event Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Mountain Grove. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with free children’s activities from 6 to 8 p.m. and bull riding beginning at 8 p.m.

MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo. — The National Federation of Professional Bullriders will present the Jeff and Randy Walkowe Memorial Bull Riding event Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Mountain Grove.

The two-hour program is scheduled to continue until 10 p.m. and will honor the memory of Jeff and Randy Walkowe while bringing National Federation of Professional Bullriders competition to the Mountain Grove community.

The event will be held from 8 to 10 p.m., with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to arrive early for free children’s activities scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

Pre-show activities will include horseback rides and a mechanical bull for children. Lawn chairs are recommended.

Mutton bustin’ will take place during intermission. Children age 6 and younger who weigh less than 50 pounds may enter a drawing for the opportunity to participate. Names will be drawn from the eligible entries.

Bull riders interested in competing may call 417-924-3591 when registration opens Monday, Aug. 24. Books will open at 6 p.m. for National Federation of Professional Bullriders members and at 8 p.m. for nonmembers. The entry fee is $65, with $1,500 in added prize money.
