Missouri man drowns in a boating accident in northern Arkansas

West Plains, MO. – One man has died following a boating accident in the Ranchette area of the White River. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced that the incident occurred at roughly 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023. 

Two men from Missouri had been fishing near the Ranchette Access on the White River, south of Cotter, Ar, when their boat ran out of fuel. While trying to restart the motor, the boat collided with a boat dock and capsized. One of the individuals was able to make it to shore, where he was rescued. The other man drowned after being swept out of the boat.
