Missouri State Highway Patrol Closely Monitoring Stretch Of U.S. 63 Following Recent Crashes

West Plains and Thayer, MO. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol recently announced that they will closely monitor the stretch of U.S. 63 between West Plains and Thayer following a string of recent crashes.

To help prevent further crashes, troopers will be in “high visibility enforcement” meaning they will patrol and work the stretch of road more frequently. They will be looking for individuals going over the speed limit and drivers getting too close to other cars. The MSHP is hoping this will keep people spread out and more aware to prevent these crashes.

The troopers in the area will also be looking for any distracted drivers. This means anyone visibly on their phones, looking away from the road, or doing something other than paying attention to the road in front of them. They may not be able to write tickets for phones on the road until next year, but they will be handing out warnings.
