Missouri Teacher Being Sentenced For Sexual Relationship With Student

Waynesville, MO. – A teacher from Waynesville, Mo. will be sentenced in October for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department probable cause affidavit, Hailey Clifton Carmack engaged in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student in 2023. Police stated that a witness reported the relationship to a school resource officer in December of 2023. The probable cause statement shared that an officer had made contact with Clifton-Carmack to seize her phone with a search warrant. Clifton-Carmack denied any relationship with the student. Police later stated that her phone revealed conversations between her and the victim discussing her relationship.

Clifton-Carmack moved from Missouri to Texas on January 3, 2023. Texas police arrested the teacher in January when she was initially charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the first-degree, second-degree statutory rape, sexual contact with a student, fourth-degree child molestation, and seven counts of furnishing pornographic material to a minor. Clifton-Carmack pled guilty on September 6th to sexual contact with a student. She is currently on house arrest while awaiting a sentencing hearing on October 11.
