The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced plans to replace the Route 137 bridge over the BNSF Railroad and East 1st Street in Willow Springs, Missouri. The structure, located between Business 63/East Main Street and West Valley, is set for replacement as part of infrastructure improvements in Howell County.
Construction is expected to begin as early as summer 2026, with Route 137 closed near the bridge for approximately six months. Additionally, East 1st Street will be closed for the entire duration of the project. MoDOT encourages the public to review maps, plans, and other project details at its Regional Office in Willow Springs.
Residents and businesses affected by the project may request a public meeting regarding the proposed improvements. Requests must be made in writing to Assistant District Engineer Jason Williams at MoDOT’s Sikeston office by Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
