Monday storm uproots trees, damages homes, barns

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A strong line of severe storms blew through the region early Monday morning, uprooting trees and damaging property throughout the listening area.

The National Weather Service reports that local damage started being called into their Springfield office around 2 am, with reports of trees being uprooted in Ozark, Douglas, and Howell Counties. A tree also fell onto a home and a barn was blown over in Ozark County, a roof was blown off of a home in Douglas County.

A mobile home was also blown off of its foundation near Willow Springs, while 1-inch hail was reported in Pomona.

Other unreported damage as stated on social media include several dozen trees downed and a tree going through a home in Ozark County.

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative reported approximately 3800 members were without power as of 6:15 am Monday.

Several tornado warnings were issued by the NWS during the night, however, no tornado touchdown was confirmed as of Monday morning.
