Mountain Grove man arrested for Burglary, Assault, and Endangering children

Mountain Grove, Mo. – A Mountain Grove man has been arrested following an incident at Ray’s Country Store on Monday. The incident in question occurred at 1045 p.m. on November 28, 2021. Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on State Highway EE at Ray’s Country Store, roughly 12 miles south of Mountain Grove.

In response to the call, Joshua Melton, age 37, of Mountain Grove, MO, was transported and booked into the Douglas County Jail. A warrant was issued for Burglary – 1st Degree, a class B Felony, Burglary – 2nd Degree, a class D Felony, 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child Creating Substantial Risk – 1st Degree – 1st Offense – No Sexual Conduct, a class D Felony, Assault – 4th Degree – Pursuant to Subdivision (1), (5). Bond Set at $25,000 Cash Only with bond conditions of: No weapons, CPS supervision with twice a week testing, GPS monitor, no contact with victim or Ray’s Country Store, and a court approved residence before bonding.

Another person at the scene, Christopher Marquez, 33 of Cabool, MO, was transported and booked into the Douglas County Jail on two active warrants from other agencies.

All subjects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
