West Plains, MO. – A Mountain Grove woman died early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 on US 60, one mile west of Mountain Grove.
An eastbound 2007 Kenworth driven by Stephen Howell, age 39 of Middleton, Tennessee, struck Rebecca Thompson, age 63 of Mountain Grove, as she had been walking in the roadway.

Thompson was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident at 2:41 a.m. on Thursday by the Wright County Coroner.
This is the 31st roadway fatality for M.S.H.P. Troop G in 2022, compared to 34 at this time last year.
