Mountain Home couple arrested for child endangerment

A Mountain Home couple was arrested last week after turning themselves in on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. This follows an investigation into reported injuries of a child.

On May 1, 2020 a 5-month old male was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center by ambulance for a complaint of seizures.  After examination the infant was air lifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock for treatment.

A joint investigation was launched by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children’s Division and the Arkansas Department of Human Services.  There are believed to be two separate traumatic events that happened to the 5-month old victim. (Due to the ongoing active investigation, no other details are being released at this time)

After consulting with 14th Judicial Prosecutor, David Ethredge, a determination was made to charge the two adults, the infant’s biological mother and father, who live at the residence where the child was staying.

Desiree Daniels

Desiree Marie Daniels, age 32 of Mountain Home was charged with:

Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, 1st Degree – Class D Felony

Her bond was set by the Court at $10,000.

Randall King

Randall Edward King, age 36 of Mountain Home was charged with:

Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, 1st Degree – Class D Felony

His bond was set by the Court at $5,000

Daniels and King turned themselves in, was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center and made bond on these charges. They are both scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on June 25, 2020.

Both children who resided at the residence were removed from the home by the Arkansas Department of Human Serviced.

This in an active and ongoing investigation.
