Mountain Home Man Killed in Texas County Crash

Houston, Mo. – A Mountain Home man was killed in a one vehicle crash Friday morning in Texas County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 9:30 a.m. March 11, 2022 on Highway 63, six miles north of Houston.

A northbound 2005 GMC Envoy driven by Hermann Richter, age 83, traveled off the right side of the roadway and overcorrected, traveling off a steep embankment. Richter had not been wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Texas County Memorial Hospital where Richter was pronounced deceased at 11:18 a.m. The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
