Mountain Home Woman Arrested For Stealing From Business Where She Worked

Mountain Home, AR. – Mountain Home resident, Susan Marie Smith, was recently arrested on charges of theft of property. Susan allegedly stole over $39,000 from the business that she worked at. 

51-year-old Susan Smith was the store manager of a local business in Mountain Home and was in charge of making the store deposits. The District Supervisor of the business was informed by his Asset Protection Manager that there were many missing deposits from the store. Smith would make deposits for the store daily except on weekends. These deposit amounts would be for the store’s earnings several days prior, some being up to nine days.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the store was missing deposits for five days, totaling $39,452.61. Smith quickly quit her job after being told that the District Manager would be coming to investigate the missing deposits. The new manager of the store was unable to find the daily sheets or deposit slips for the five missing days.
