West Plains, MO. – A Mountain View woman was injured in a two vehicle accident Tuesday shortly before noon. According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of County Roads 3380 and 1990 located north of Hutton Valley and east of Willow Springs.
A northbound 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Derrick West, 45 of West Plains, failed to yield to a 2015 Chevy Equinox driven by Mavis Aye, age 86 of Mtn. View, causing a crash. Aye had been wearing a seat belt and sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was taken by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
West was arrested at the scene for a West Plains warrant, failure to yield to an oncoming vehicle, no insurance, and no seatbelt.
