MSHP Annual Torch Run Taking Place Today Despite Rain

Willow Springs, MO. – This morning, law enforcement with the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be present jogging alongside roadways in their annual Law Enforcement Torch Torch Run.

This event, meant to bring awareness to and to fundraise for Missouri Special Olympics, takes place yearly around this time, and is set to continue despite any setbacks due to the weather. Routes however are said to be shorter as a result of the rain.

Sergeant Eddie Young of the Highway Patrol said that the run is set to begin in Willow Springs and will end at Cedarhurst in West Plains, before culminating in a trip to Dairy Queen for both the Highway Patrol and Special Olympics Athletes that are present.
