On Monday morning, at 4:45 AM, Trooper Z. Tate with the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one vehicle accident five miles north of Norwood, Missouri on Tharpe School Road. The 2006 GMC Sierra, driven by Richard Blakey, 55 of Norwood, traveled off the left side of the road, striking a utility pole, and overturning. Blakey and his passenger, Jamie Cook, 30 of Norwood, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by ambulance. Blakey is said to have minor injuries and Cook has moderate injuries. Cook was not wearing a safety device.
