According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, two people died in a one-vehicle accident Monday, July 20, 2020. The accident happened on Highway 5, five miles north of Ava at 1:30 p.m.
Owen Dobb, 25, of Ava, attempted to pass two vehicles and traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and struck a tree. Dobb and his passenger, Rebecca Brandon, 34, of Ava, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

This is Troop G’s 21st and 22nd fatalities of the year, compared to 14 at this time in 2019.
