MSU-West Plains Center for Workforce Development to Host First Annual Welding Competition

West Plains, MO. – The Missouri State University-West Plains Center for Workforce Development will be holding a Welding Competition this week. This is set to happen on Friday, April 8, at the Greater Ozarks Center for Advanced Technology (GOCAT) Training Facility, 395 Jackie D. Garrett Dr., in West Plains.

The event, which will begin about 8:30 a.m., will feature area high school students participating in written and hands-on welding tests in different categories based on their experience and/or knowledge.

An awards ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. at the training center. Scholarships will be awarded to first, second and third place winners in the amount of $1,000, $750 and $500, respectively, in each category.
