Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) is now accepting registrations for its Student Advising and Registration (STAR) Orientation for new students planning to enroll in summer 2025 or fall semester classes.
Cindy Bridges, director of student advisement, announced that all first-time freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 10 credit hours must complete a STAR Orientation to prepare for their academic journey. Students can attend in-person sessions on May 21, August 1, 8, and 13, or online sessions through the university’s Brightspace learning platform, available any time.
STAR Orientation introduces students to university policies, support services, and the registration process. Topics covered include financial aid, student life and housing, academic advising and degree planning, tutoring and support services, as well as textbook purchasing, ID cards, and parking permits.
Advisors will help students schedule a personalized registration appointment by phone, Zoom, or in person, which may be set before or after completing STAR. Before attending STAR, students must be admitted to the university and complete required placement testing. Summer classes begin June 2, while the fall semester starts August 18.
