MSU-WP purchases former shoe factory building that housed the Grizzly Lofts

WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Members of the Missouri State University Board of Governors approved the purchase of the building that houses the Grizzly Lofts residence hall for $4.5 million during a special closed session meeting on Nov. 15 in Springfield.

The university will take ownership of the building immediately following the closing date of the purchase. All students residing on campus will move into the facility for the 2024 spring semester.

The facility includes an on-site dining hall, which will be open to the public and managed by Great Western Dining Service, Inc., in Tipton, Missouri.

Other amenities include a fitness center, computer lab, private and group study rooms, free internet access, a community room with TV, video games and ping pong, a laundry facility, and a sand volleyball court outside. It is also equipped with security cameras and limited access entries to help ensure student safety.
