The Baxter County, Ark. Sheriff’s Office has arrested 27-year-old Vanessa Renee Henschel of Mountain Home on several felony charges related to the break-in of a private residence on Baxter CR 15. At approximately 5:06 PM on Tuesday, January 28th, the Sheriff’s Office received a report from the homeowner that as he was arriving home from work he saw his pickup truck being driven down his driveway toward the house. He followed it to the residence and observed a woman, later identified as Henschel, get out of the vehicle and try to walk into the house through the open garage.
The homeowner confronted the woman and tried to stop her. She turned around and hit the homeowner in the side of the head and then grabbed a pair of limb clippers and tried to hit him with those. The homeowner then called for help.
A Sheriff’s Investigator was close by the location and arrived a few minutes later. He placed Henschel under arrest. It was determined that Henschel had made entry into the house by breaking a kitchen window. The homeowner said the keys to his truck had been lying on the table. Henschel was wearing clothing that belonged to the homeowner’s wife. Henschel’s own clothing was found in a pile on the floor with blood on them, and she also had blood on her hands. In addition, Henschel was wearing jewelry belonging to the homeowner’s wife.
Henschel was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on charges of:
Aggravated Residential Burglary – Felony
Theft of Property (2 counts) – Felonies
Criminal Mischief in the First Degree – Felony
Battery in the Third Degree – Misdemeanor
Criminal Trespass – Misdemeanor
Henschel is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond with an appearance set in the Circuit Court to answer on February 6th. Records indicate that Henschel has been booked into the Baxter County Detention Center a total of thirteen times since 2010 on a variety of felony and misdemeanor crimes.
