On January 15 at approximately 12:35, Mountain View police conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Ford F-150 at the Corner of 5th Street and Marr Street near Veterans Park. The driver of the vehicle, Clinton Lynn, was arrested for Felony Driving while suspended/revoked.
Upon taking Mr. Lynn into custody MVPD officers located on Lynn’s person a plastic baggie containing what is suspected to be Methamphetamine. Lynn’s vehicle was searched and officers located a plastic baggie of Marijuana and a Rubber container of what is commonly referred to as “DAB” a THC based controlled substance. Also located in the vehicle were two items matching two reports of stolen items
While searching the vehicle, officers located a black metal pipe approx. 4 inches in length and 1.5 inches in diameter. This pipe was capped on both ends. One cap was clear, and batteries were visible inside the pipe. Wires were running from the inside of the pipe from a capped end and to a pressure switch taped on the outside of the pipe. The ATF was contacted, and officers were advised to contact the MSHP bomb squad. MVPD and Mtn View Fire secured the scene and blocked off Veterans Park and nearby roadways. MSHP responded to the scene and secured the device. Bomb techs preformed x-rays and technical analysis of the device and determined that the device did not have an explosive charge inside.
Lynn was transported to MVPD where upon questioning, admitted to possessing the drugs and to have committed several burglaries in Mtn View.
Officers served the search warrant at Lynn’s residence. During the search, around 25 stolen items were recovered and positively identified by owners. Another approx. 45 items were located that are believed stolen and seized by MVPD.
Charges have been sent to Howell County Prosecutor’s Office against Clinton Lynn: they include Felony Driving while revoked, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of second degree burglary, two count of stealing and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
