Mountain Grove, MO. – The Mountain Grove Fire Department had their work cut out for them last night during the severe weather that travelled through the Ozarks, with two house fires and an EMS call.
Multiple calls for service spanned across 5 hours of time beginning at 1:30am for storm spotting. At 2:56am, they were called out to assist on a structure fire where a single-family residence had been struck by lightning on Highway 63 roughly 3 miles North of Cabool. The house was a total loss.
Another call came in at 4:09am for another single-family residence that had been struck by lightning on Lone Pine Road in the Mountain Grove area. The home was extensively damaged. A ground fire was stopped on MM Highway at 5:09am caused by downed power lines. Finally, an EMS call at 5:07 kept the crews out until 6:30am.
