Mountain Grove, MO. The Mountain Grove Heritage Festival is proud to announce, live in concert, the Liverpool Legends! This concert will be on the Mtn. Grove square and will be free and open to the public.
On Friday, August 12, at 6:00 pm, these four lads will open the Heritage Festival with the classic sounds of the Beatles greatest hits. The Beatles were innovative in incorporating symphonic music, traditional pop, folk-rock, jazz and other genres creating a style and sound unlike anything before them. The Liverpool Legends have toured the world including two sold out shows in Mexico City, performed at Carnegie Hall, and headlined the Rose Bowl four times. They have had their own show in Branson since 2005 and have been awarded Best Show, Best Band and received the prestigious Visitor’s Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Trains, Planes and Antique Motorcycles” acknowledging the critical role these forms of transportation played in the burgeoning industrial revolution of the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was a time filled with excitement, new beginnings, and progress.
On Saturday, August 13, view model train displays by the West Plains Model Railroad Club. Plans are underway to have a real BNSF engine on site for tours. Witness a “fly-in” at the Mtn. Grove municipal airport including both full size and remote-control airplanes. Marvel at the antique motorcycles on display by the St. Louis Gateway Chapter and the Kansas City Santa Fe Trail Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.
In addition to the trains, planes and antique motorcycles, enjoy music throughout the day Saturday including performances by The Whetstone Band, The Baker Family, and Stringed Union, a quilt show at The Loft, and browse over 175 crafts, entertainment and food vendors.
