West Plains, MO. – Due to extremely low attendance again on Monday, December 12, the Mountain View-Birch Tree School District is canceling school tomorrow and Wednesday. There will be no school on Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14. Classes will resume on Thursday, December 15.
The school stated in a message on social media, “The next two days are considered school days with alternative methods of instruction (AMI) to be completed at home. Students will be bringing home educational packets today and will need to return their completed packets when they return to school or they will be counted absent on Tuesday and Wednesday.”
In addition to classes being cancelled, all extra curricular activities in the district, including ball games, are canceled Monday through Wednesday evening.
The district is asking that parents do not send their children to school on Thursday if they are sick or running a fever.
