Clear Springs, MO. – A Mountain View man has been arrested on April 4th after leading law enforcement on a multiple-leg chase, spurred on originally by a case of stealing.
This information comes to us from the office of Texas County Sheriff, Scott Lindsey. Texas County Deputies began this event by attempting to locate the suspect in a stealing case near Jackson Road in the Clear Springs area.
The suspect was Gaige C. Watts, 28 of Mountain View. Deputies approached Watts for detainment, and Watts fled the scene on foot. He then proceeded to a residence and stole a second vehicle, a truck, to continue fleeing.
Watts was caught later when he attempted to flee from the second vehicle, and investigation revealed a stolen motorcycle in the bed of the truck, as well as methamphetamine.
Gaige Watts is charged with Felony Stealing, 3 counts of 2nd Degree Assault of a Special Victim, and Felony Resisting Arrest. He is being held on $1 million bond.
