Mtn. View man seriously injured in two vehicle accident

West Plains, MO – A two-vehicle accident that occurred yesterday afternoon has sent a Mountain View man to the hospital. The accident happened on AB Highway, four miles south of West Plains, at 5:35 p.m. A 1997 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Burl Bishop, 43 of Mountain View, MO., was heading east when he crossed the centerline and struck a 2009 Ford E150 Van driven by Louis Knott, 64 of West Plains. The Pontiac was totaled and the Ford sustained moderate damage.

Bishop suffered serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. It is unknown if he was wearing his safety device. Knott was wearing his safety device, suffered minor injuries, and sought his own medical treatment.
