Mountain View, MO. – A 19-year-old teenager from Mountain View who plead “not guilty” in the case regarding the death of his grandmother, has had his Jury Trial scheduled for May 10th of next year.
Jacob Hearne, 19, was arrested in April during the investigation of a housefire that had left the body of an older woman inside. The body was identified as that of Phyllis Schweinel, 62 of Mountain View.
Hearne was taken into custody by the Highway Patrol, where he had confessed to the murder and starting the fire.
Despite the confession, Hearne plead “not guilty” to the charges of First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Arson, stated his grandmother has asked for assisted suicide.
Hearnes pre-trial conference is scheduled for April 18th of 2023, the 1 year mark from when the body was discovered.
