West Plains, MO – University of Missouri Extension is hosting a Drought and Your Farm Workshop on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Howell County Extension Center. Registration will start at 5:00 pm, with the meal and presentations to follow. Topics covered at the seminar include tips and strategies to get your farm through this severe drought.
Sarah Kenyon, Agronomy specialist with MU Extension with speak about drought facts, protecting forage during drought, and nitrate and prussic acid concerns. Elizabeth Picking, livestock specialist with MU Extension will speak about low-cost supplemental feeding, how to stretch hay supplies, and meeting animal requirements. Eric Meusch, Livestock Specialist with MU Extension, will speak about herd management during drought, selective culling, and impacts of body condition on production. Logan McGhee, County Executive Director with Farm Service Agency will speak about drought programs available.
