West Plains, MO. – The Howell County MU Extension office will offer a Stay Strong Stay Healthy Strength Training class starting July 25 and lasting through August 28. They will meet 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The course was created for older adults who wish to stay active and improve their quality of life.
“Stay Strong, Stay Healthy classes include warm-up exercises, eight strengthening exercises, with or without hand and ankle weights, and cool-down stretches,” stated Howell County Nutrition Specialist Stephanie Johnson. “Over the course of the program, older adults will learn strength, balance, and flexibility.”
The exercises are easy to learn, safe, and effective. Comfortable, loose-fitting pants and shirts are suggested along with sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes.
Anyone interested in taking the class are encouraged to contact the Howell County MU Extension office at 417-256-2391. Class size is limited, and registration is required.
