Sheriff Degase advised that additional multi-agency interdictions are planned in the near future. “ I feel this was a successful operation for many reasons. There were no fatalities along 5 Highway this holiday season and I would like to believe that high visibility patrol played a part in that. As for the drug interdiction, even though we did not seize any large quantities of illegal drugs, 5 Highway is known as a major drug corridor and we will do our best to change that and deter illegal narcotics from traveling through our counties. I would like to personally thank all the agencies that participated in this effort.”
