Multiple Area Teens Seriously Injured in Mountain View Overturn Crash

Mountain View, MO. – Three teens were involved in a one-vehicle crash on the evening of July 27th, and two of them have been inflicted with severe injuries.

This accident took place on Highway W at 6:30pm. The driver in this accident was a 16-year-old male from Birch Tree, MO. At roughly 10 miles South of Mountain View, the 16-year-old driver ran off the right side of the roadway in the Dodge Dart they were operating. They then struck an embankment, went airborne, overturned, and struck a fence.

The driver and a 16-year-old female occupant from West Plains sustained injuries classified as serious in severity. One more occupant, a 19-year-old from Willow Springs identified as Makayla Collins, sustained moderate injuries. None of the three were wearing a safety device, and all were taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment.

The investigator of this accident was Master Sergeant S.N. Foster of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
